  • The All Movie Guide includes plot summaries, reviews, and general information on more than 206,000 film titles. Highlights include links to "Similar Movies," "Movies with the Same Personnel," and "Other Related Movies." Also includes over 50 film industry "Essays" on a wide range of topics and genres.

  • This source is also included in the biographies section of this guide. A great source for comprehensive biographies and relevant web links for over 25,000 individuals. Particularly useful for information on actors and directors. Searching by keyword allows the user to discover the director for a particular film.

  • The Greatest Films provides detailed synopses, historical, and background information for hundreds of class Hollywood films. Images of vintage film posters, historic Academy Award winners and film listings by director, actor, and genre are provided. The site is highly regarded by film critics and the Encyclopedia Britannica.

  • IMDb is a database of over 260,000 film and television productions made since 1892. It includes information on directors, cast & crew, film locations, awards, quotes, movie stills, and more. All information is accessible through the "search the database for" form at the top of the left column.

  • This site houses features on areas such as Classic Films, B-Films, Black Americans in Film, Screwball Comedy, as well as on individual artists. Movies can be browsed by decade and a useful bibliography is provided.

  • A comprehensive site containing over 2,400 web pages dedicated to classic movies. Information on particular actors, films, directors, producers, and studios are provided. The site contains many links to articles and other web sites related to classic movies.
