Shareware available through UNC
UNC shareware offers a number of software packages for free to anyone who has an Onyen. Software includes:
- Antivirus: Symantec for Windows, Norton for Mac
- E-mail: Mulberry, Thunderbird, Oracle connectors
- File transfer: SSH/SFTP for Windows, Fetch for Mac
- File archives: WinZip for Windows, StuffIt for Mac
- Printing: clients that connect you to campus printing
- VPN: Cisco VPN client
- ...and other utilities.
Microsoft Products available through SILS
SILS has teamed up with Microsoft to provide Microsoft software to SILS students at no cost. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in at least one class at SILS. The ELMS site offers the following software for students (note that Microsoft Office is not included):
- Access 2003/2007
- Visio Professional 2003/2007
- OneNote 2003/2007
- Windows XP Professional
- Windows Vista Business
- ...and other MS packages.
How to access ELMS
The ELMS site uses a simple shopping-cart checkout system, and you need a valid UNC email address to access the site. Instructions on how to access, download, and install your software through ELMS can be found at our ELMS for MSDN download help page.
