Safety tips
To prevent accidents, please remember these safety tips.

Check with park staff on water conditions before canoeing.

Take a vested interest in your safety; wear a life vest when canoeing.

In the event of a canoe spill, stay on the upstream side of your boat to avoid being pinned against a rock.

Canoe and hike with a partner or group.

There are no protected swimming areas in the park. Swim at your own risk.

Poison ivy, chiggers, ticks, yellow jackets and venomous copperhead snakes may be found along park trails. Be alert!

For other safety tips or explanation of park regulations, contact park staff.
