2009 SCALA Officers

President

Jon Breece is a MSLS candidate from northern Virginia. Jon also is a certificate candidate in the Geographic Information Science program. He graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2005 with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and subsequently taught ESL in Thessaloniki, Greece and Raleigh, NC. Jon enjoys volunteering with Paws4Ever and the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library

Vice President

Maggie Hargrave is a LS student. She is interested in working at a public library on the youth side. She has moved all over the country, but wants to stay in the area after graduation. Maggie also loves trashy novels and trashy TV.

Secretary

Wakefield Harper is in his second semester at SILS with an aim to eventual employment in a Special Collections context. He is from New Zealand, and enjoys cricket, football, classical music and the outdoors.

Treasurer

Claire Ruswick is finishing up her first year working on a library science degree at SILS. When not at SILS during the week, she works at NC State in their Special Collections Department. Her favorite recreational reading genre is historical fiction. She is working on knitting her first sock, and hopes to work on a second one soon.

Webmaster

Gardner Treneman is finishing his first year in SILS, and is leaning towards Academic Reference and Instruction. He enjoys 'heels basketball, Panther's football, and anything involving cooking. Being the webmaster will take him back to his undergrad days and use of his multimedia minor.
